Awaiting an ROTC dinner where Col. Taylor is to be roasted, Ron sweats bullets over the choosing of "cadet of the year"

Summary Edit

The students of Hillman are making plans for an ROTC banquet saluting Colonel Taylor. The Colonel is beside himself as he tries to uncover the identity of the guest speaker who will honor him. Is it Colin Powell? Margaret Thatcher? When he discovers that the speaker is a solider who was disabled in battle under his command, Colonel Taylor confronts some demons of the past. He blames himself for the solider's having lost his leg in battle. Meanwhile, Ron meets some demons of his own trying to decide whether or not he believes himself worthy of the "Cadet of the Year" award. Col. Taylor is deeply moved when he receives a touching tribute from the solider who tells the banquet that without Col. Taylor he may have lost more than just his leg. Ron is also touched when he learns he's on "Cadet of the Year".
